Biography
Peter Macrow's first haiku were published in Famous Reporter in June 2001. Since then they have appeared not only in Australia, but also in New Zealand, Japan, the United States, Canada, England and Bulgaria.
Peter has studied music, literature and languages. He first wrote haiku in Japanese during his third year of studying Japanese at University. He has taught German Language and European Literature at the University of Tasmania and worked for many years as a sound librarian for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation.
Along with haiku, Peter also writes longer poems, poems for children, book reviews and short fiction. He edits the poetry magazine Blue Giraffe, which he publishes through his Blue Giraffe Press. He also edits the haiku page in Poam, the newsletter of the Melbourne Poets Union. He is a member of Watersmeet Haiku Group, whose anthology was recently released by Pardalote Press.
